Day by Day Itinerary:

Day 1: Mount Hanang (L, D)

Depart Arusha in the morning at travel to Katesh, home to Mount Hanang and located in the Manyara region.

The area surrounding Mount Hanang is used for farming and is home to two major ethic groups; the Barbaig and the Iraqw. Both tribes offer a wealth of culture and the Barbaig women are often seen in goatskin skirts while the men dress in black cloth and carry spears. Likewise, the Iraqw people are usually seen wearing colourful kangas. It is also an ideal place for bird watching with over 400 species being recorded.

Offering exceptional views of the Rift Valley, Mount Hanang is Tanzania’s fourth highest mountain and stands at 3,420m. After lunch you will begin your trek up Mount Hanang where you will spend the night.

Day 2: Mount Hanang (B, L)

This morning you will watch the sun rise from the summit of Mount Hanang and enjoy the scenery and a picnic breakfast on the mountain before making your way down and returning to Arusha where your safari ends upon arrival.
