Day by Day Itinerary

Day 1 – 2: Southern Kruger National Park – Riverine Wilderness & Big Five Safaris

Your journey begins with a scheduled flight from Johannesburg to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport. On arrival, you will be met and transferred by private vehicle to your luxury lodge, located in the wildlife-rich southern region of Kruger National Park.

Set within an exclusive 15,000-hectare private concession bordered by three major river systems, Lukimbi Safari Lodge offers a diverse ecosystem of open grasslands, dense woodland, and lush riverine forest — ideal habitat for an abundance of wildlife.

After time to settle into your suite, you will head out on your first afternoon game drive in search of the Big Five and other iconic species.

During your stay, enjoy:

  • Morning and afternoon guided game drives
  • Exceptional birdlife and varied landscapes
  • Relaxation by the pool overlooking the bush
  • Optional spa treatments for a rejuvenating safari experience

Following an early morning game drive and breakfast, you will travel by road to the world-famous Sabi Sand Game Reserve, part of the Greater Kruger ecosystem.

This reserve is renowned for intimate wildlife encounters, expert trackers, and some of the best leopard sightings in Africa.

Twice-daily game drives in open safari vehicles allow you to get remarkably close to wildlife, while optional guided bush walks offer a more immersive perspective of the African wilderness.

Between activities, you may:

  • Relax at the lodge pool
  • Enjoy a spa treatment in your private suite
  • Watch wildlife from the comfort of camp

Each drive lasts approximately three to four hours and includes a scenic coffee stop in the morning or a sundowner break in the evening.

After breakfast, you will fly by private charter via Ondangwa to the eastern side of Etosha National Park, followed by a short road transfer to your luxury lodge.

Etosha, meaning “The Great White Place,” is centred around a vast salt pan and is one of Africa’s most rewarding wildlife destinations. The park’s network of waterholes attracts an abundance of animals, allowing for exceptional game viewing.

Your days here include morning and afternoon game drives in open safari vehicles, where you may encounter elephants, lions, rhinos, cheetahs, leopards, giraffes, and large herds of plains game.
In the afternoons, enjoy sundowners on the private reserve and relax at the lodge while wildlife gathers at nearby waterholes.
